Sheikh Abdullah's Visit To Germany Bolsters UAE-German Strategic Ties
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, embarked on a significant visit to Germany, aiming to bolster the robust friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the UAE and Germany. This visit saw a series of high-level meetings with key German officials, including Jens Plötner, Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the German Federal Chancellor, and members of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the German Federal Parliament. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
Further deepening the diplomatic ties, Sheikh Abdullah held a meeting with Annalena Baerbock, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany. The dialogue centered on cooperation relations and supporting the development goals of both nations. A critical aspect of their discussions was addressing the current developments in the Middle East, especially the crisis in the Gaza Strip and its surrounding areas. Sheikh Abdullah underscored the necessity of bolstering regional and international efforts to secure a sustainable ceasefire and deliver urgent humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.

Emphasizing a peaceful resolution, Sheikh Abdullah advocated for a political solution to resume negotiations towards achieving comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution. He highlighted the region's aspiration for security, stability, development, and prosperity.
In his engagement with Dr. Robert Habeck, Vice-Chancellor and German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, economic relations between the UAE and Germany were at the forefront. They explored avenues to enhance these relations within their comprehensive strategic partnership framework.
Sheikh Abdullah's visit also included meetings with German business leaders and CEOs of German companies to discuss potential collaborations in economy and environment sectors. These discussions aimed at supporting the development plans and programs of both countries.
A notable aspect of Sheikh Abdullah's visit was his commitment to the Emirati community in Germany. He hosted a reception for Emirati students studying in Germany, Emiratis receiving medical treatment in Germany, and Germans who have lived in the UAE. This gesture underscored his dedication to providing support and care for Emiratis during their stay in German educational institutions.
The visit was supported by Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Head of International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court, Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Commercial Affairs, and Ahmed Alattar, UAE Ambassador to Germany. Their participation underscored the importance of these meetings in strengthening bilateral ties between the UAE and Germany.
