UAE Gender Balance Council Signs MoU With Posterity Institute To Enhance Women's Leadership Representation
The UAE Gender Balance Council has partnered with the Posterity Institute to promote the SDG 5 Acceleration Pledge. This initiative, launched in 2022, aims to boost women's leadership roles in private sectors to 30% by 2028. The collaboration will create a framework for gender-inclusive policies and exchange knowledge on women's leadership.
Both organisations plan to facilitate the pledge signing by over 30 institutions, covering 35% of companies within the Posterity Institute's network. They will also work with the UAE National Competitiveness Council (NAFIS) to enhance job opportunities for Emirati women within this network.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, and Dr. Yassar Jarrar, Managing Partner at the Posterity Institute, signed the MoU. Her Excellency Mouza Mohammed Al Ghuwais Al Suwaidi was present during this event. The Posterity Institute joins 71 companies committed to increasing women's representation in senior roles by 2025.
Mona Al Marri stated that this agreement supports the council's mission to improve women's participation in line with H.H. Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision. "We are proud to collaborate with the Posterity Institute," she said, highlighting its role in sustainability and economic inclusion.
Mouza Mohammed Al Ghuwais Al Suwaidi emphasised that this partnership shows private sector commitment to inclusive workplaces. She noted that gender balance is crucial for economic growth and sustainable development. "This collaboration will launch workshops and training programs for women," she added.
Dr. Yassar Jarrar highlighted that signing this memorandum advances efforts to increase women's representation in private sectors. He stressed that gender balance is not just a social goal but a driver of innovation and economic growth.
"At the Posterity Institute, we believe women's inclusion is vital for sustainable societies," Dr. Jarrar stated. Their commitment includes having 35% of their network join the SDG 5 Acceleration Pledge, reflecting dedication to empowering women in leadership roles.
He also mentioned that this aligns with the Sustainability CEO Network’s vision for workplaces where success is based on ability, not gender, by 2030. "This partnership with the UAE Gender Balance Council is another step toward our shared vision of a just and sustainable future," he concluded.
