UAE And France Conduct Political Consultations To Enhance Strategic Partnership In April 2025
Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Paris from 7–8 April 2025. This visit aimed to reinforce the strategic partnership between the UAE and France. It provided a platform to enhance foreign policy alignment on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The visit included significant political consultations at the Quai d'Orsay. These were co-chaired with Frédéric Mondoloni, Director General for Political and Security Affairs at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Discussions focused on rapidly changing geopolitical developments in Europe, the Middle East, and the Horn of Africa. Both parties emphasised mediation and diplomacy as key strategies.

Nusseibeh's visit also involved bilateral meetings with senior French officials at the Elysee. She met with Paul Soler, Special Envoy of the President; Jérémie Robert, Head of African Affairs; and Bruno Fuchs, Member of Parliament and Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee. These engagements highlighted the robust UAE-France relations and explored areas for continued strategic coordination.
During these meetings, discussions covered regional security in the Middle East and Horn of Africa, investment cooperation, development aid, trade, and Artificial Intelligence. The focus was on working together to achieve peace and stability as a key objective of their strategic partnership.
This visit followed previous visits by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in February and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in March. These visits have maintained diplomatic momentum between both nations.
The discussions confirmed a shared resolve to navigate complex global realities through concerted action together. The agenda centred around aligning foreign policies on various issues of shared concern.
The engagements reflected the strength of UAE-France relations. They explored areas for continued strategic coordination in fields of common interest globally.
