UAE And France Strengthen Judicial Cooperation To Combat Financial Crimes And Extradition Issues
Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, the UAE's Minister of Justice, recently hosted Gérald Darmanin, France's Minister of Justice, in Abu Dhabi. The meeting aimed to strengthen judicial and legal cooperation between the UAE and France. Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration to tackle global financial crimes like corruption and criminal extradition, supported by existing agreements.
The ministers highlighted the robust relationship between the two nations, built on trust and a shared commitment to partnership across various fields. This cooperation aims to serve the mutual interests of both countries and their citizens. They reiterated their dedication to exchanging expertise and fostering global cooperation.

Al Nuaimi emphasised the UAE's commitment to international best practices in combating illicit financing. He noted the importance of working with international partners like France to address threats to global financial security. The UAE has implemented legislation and procedures against organised crime, financial crimes, and terrorist financing as a moral obligation.
Darmanin acknowledged the significance of the partnership with the UAE in fighting organised crime. He advocated for more frequent meetings to strengthen this bond further. He also welcomed an upcoming extradition involving a drug trafficker wanted by Bordeaux Law Courts.
