UAE Floating Hospital Continues Vital Support For Gaza's Palestinian Residents

The United Arab Emirates has taken a significant step towards providing medical and humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip through the establishment of a floating hospital in Al Arish, Egypt. This initiative is a testament to the UAE's unwavering commitment to global welfare and humanitarian aid, under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as part of "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3".

The floating hospital, a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Defence and Abu Dhabi Ports Group, is staffed by a diverse team of medical and administrative professionals. This includes specialists in anesthesiology, general surgery, orthopedics, emergency, intensive and internal care, as well as nurses, technicians, and hospital management experts. Dr. Ahmed Mubarak, the Director of the Floating Hospital, highlighted the facility's state-of-the-art equipment and adherence to international standards.

With a capacity to accommodate 100 patients and an equal number of their companions, the hospital ensures comfortable stays for families. It is equipped with advanced surgical and intensive care units, emergency services, radiology departments, and support facilities like laboratories and pharmacies. The presence of two ambulances enhances its readiness for urgent care and critical cases, complementing the Emirati field hospital in Gaza.

Each patient at the floating hospital receives a thorough evaluation to ensure personalized treatment that meets the highest healthcare standards. Currently, the hospital has 153 patients across gender-specific wards and has conducted 328 surgeries since its inception. The addition of a helipad and naval vessels enhances its emergency response capabilities, allowing for swift medical interventions for critical cases in Gaza.

This initiative not only reflects the UAE's dedication to humanitarian duty but also its capacity to provide vital medical services in times of need. The floating hospital stands as a beacon of hope for those affected in the Gaza Strip, offering not just medical care but also a symbol of international solidarity and support.
