UAE Floating Hospital Conducts Complex Surgeries For Palestinians Under 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3'
The UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish, Egypt, has recently conducted several specialised surgeries for Palestinian patients and the injured. This initiative is part of the medical services provided by the United Arab Emirates to Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. The operation was ordered by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Dr. Ahmed Mubarak, Director of the Hospital, reported that the specialist medical team has performed five intricate surgeries over the past two days. These surgeries are the first of their kind conducted in state-owned field hospitals for patients with complex compound fractures. The procedures involved the use of specialised titanium spinal nails, showcasing the high level of expertise possessed by the medical team.

Dr. Mubarak highlighted that these complex procedures required advanced medical technologies and equipment. In response, the hospital has increased its efforts to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care to those injured from Gaza, particularly those needing treatment with advanced medical supplies.
Since its launch, the hospital has received 180 cases and performed 430 surgeries of various types, averaging five surgeries per day. The medical care is provided by teams from various specialties, ensuring a wide range of treatments for patients.
The UAE Floating Hospital began its services for Palestinian patients on February 24. An Emirati medical team from all specialties supervises the hospital, which has expanded its capacity to 120 beds from an initial 100 beds, along with 100 beds for patient companions.
Comprehensive Facilities and Services
The hospital includes operating rooms for all types of surgery, intensive care units, anaesthesia rooms, comprehensive outpatient clinics, and supporting medical services such as X-rays, a pharmacy, and a laboratory. These facilities enable the hospital to provide extensive treatment in line with international standards required for field hospitals.
The UAE's commitment to providing advanced medical care through this floating hospital underscores its dedication to alleviating the humanitarian crisis faced by Palestinian families in Gaza. The ongoing efforts reflect a significant contribution towards improving healthcare access and outcomes for those affected by conflict.
