However, the airport has kept its departure flights operational, indicating a partial yet crucial disruption in its services.
Amidst this weather-induced chaos, FlyDubai, a prominent airline based in Dubai, declared a temporary halt to all its departing flights from Dubai. This suspension is set to last until Wednesday morning, as confirmed by the airline. "All FlyDubai flights scheduled for departure from Dubai this evening (16 April) have been canceled effective immediately until 10:00 (Dubai local time) on 17 April. During this period, passengers who do not have Dubai as their final destination will not be accepted for travel," a spokesperson for FlyDubai announced.
The weather disturbance has also led to the closure of schools across the UAE, with expectations to remain shut on Wednesday due to forecasts of further storms. In response to the severe weather predictions, Dubai's government has extended the remote working directive for its employees into Wednesday, ensuring the safety and well-being of its workforce amidst the ongoing weather challenges.
