Sheikh Mohammed: Over 100,000 Emiratis In UAE Private Sector Now

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler Dubai, reviewed the Emiratisation strategy results in the private sector. For the first time, he stated that the number of UAE citizens employed in this sector has surpassed 100,000, with 70,000 joining in the past two and a half years.

This growth, Sheikh Mohammed said, follows the launch of the Nafes programme by the President of the UAE, which provided generous support amounting to Dh24 billion. Numerous legislations have also been enacted to support and stimulate localisation in the private sector.

New Employment Policy

During the Council of Ministers meeting, Sheikh Mohammed said a new policy was adopted to give employment preference in the government sector to individuals with three years of private sector experience. This initiative aims to integrate more citizens into the government workforce, leveraging their private sector expertise.

Sheikh Mohammed extended his appreciation to the Nafes programme team and the Ministry of Emiratisation and Human Resources, led by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed. Their efforts in managing this crucial national initiative have been instrumental in achieving these milestones.

Future Goals and Integration

Sheikh Mohammed added that the UAE's private and government sectors are working harmoniously to provide job opportunities for both national and non-citizen workforces. The national economy has generated hundreds of thousands of opportunities, with an ambitious goal of adding another 100,000 jobs for citizens over the next three years.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed optimism about the future of the country, its youth, and the economy, envisioning a brighter, better, and greater future for the UAE. The continued collaborative efforts between various sectors are expected to drive further growth and development.
