UAE Accountability Authority Joins Executive Board Of International Association Of Anti-Corruption Authorities
The UAE Accountability Authority has secured a position on the Executive Board of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA). This election took place during IAACA's first council meeting in 2025. The achievement highlights the UAE's significant role in promoting good governance and integrity on a global scale.
In September 2024, the Authority was chosen for the Steering Committee of the GlobE Network, which operates under the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. This appointment reinforced international confidence in the UAE's commitment to cross-border anti-corruption initiatives. The same month, it also joined the Executive Board of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), showcasing its leadership in governance and auditing within Asia.

The IAACA is an independent organisation with over 180 member countries. It supports implementing the United Nations Convention against Corruption by empowering anti-corruption bodies and fostering collaboration among them. The UAE's recent election to its Executive Board further cements its influence in this field.
The UAE Accountability Authority emphasised that this new membership offers a valuable platform for shaping international policies and sharing best practices. This opportunity will enhance transparency within government institutions, both domestically and globally.
This milestone aligns with the Authority’s strategy to develop a strong regulatory framework adhering to top international standards in transparency, anti-corruption, and institutional excellence. It also reflects growing global recognition of the UAE’s pivotal role in supporting international efforts to promote integrity.
The Authority's success on the global stage continues to rise as it plays a crucial role in oversight and anti-corruption efforts worldwide. Its involvement with organisations like IAACA and ASOSAI demonstrates its dedication to fostering cooperation among anti-corruption bodies globally.
The UAE Accountability Authority's achievements underscore its commitment to advancing transparency and integrity across government institutions. By participating actively in international organisations, it contributes significantly to shaping policies that promote good governance worldwide.
