UAE And Egypt Strengthen Cooperation In Tolerance And Human Fraternity Initiatives
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE's Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, recently met with Egypt's Minister of Religious Endowments, Osama Al-Azhari. Their discussion focused on enhancing cooperation in tolerance and human fraternity between the UAE and Egypt. This meeting is part of the UAE's ongoing efforts to foster cultural and religious dialogue both regionally and globally.
The meeting took place in Abu Dhabi and was attended by Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, along with Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Director of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities. The discussions included a range of topics such as fostering cooperation across various fields and exchanging expertise.
Both parties explored initiatives that promote social peace and cultural exchange among nations. They also addressed shared challenges facing the Arab and Islamic worlds, particularly focusing on combating extremist ideologies. Sheikh Nahyan praised Egypt's Ministry of Religious Endowments for its role in promoting moderate thought and countering extremist rhetoric.
Sheikh Nahyan emphasised the importance of collaboration among religious and cultural institutions in Arab countries. He highlighted their role in presenting a civilised model to the world that reflects Islam's true values of peace, coexistence, and human fraternity. He expressed eagerness for further collaboration with Egypt's Ministry of Religious Endowments.
The historic ties between the UAE and Egypt were acknowledged as a strong foundation for developing joint initiatives across various fields. Sheikh Nahyan underscored these ties while expressing his desire for fruitful collaboration with Egypt in future endeavours.
Minister Osama Al-Azhari expressed deep appreciation for the UAE's efforts in promoting tolerance at both regional and international levels. He commended Sheikh Nahyan’s exceptional work in fostering coexistence among different cultures and religions.
