UAE Affirms Non-Recognition Of Port Sudan Authority's Diplomatic Decision
The United Arab Emirates has declared that it does not acknowledge the decision made by the Port Sudan Authority. This authority is not recognised as representing Sudan's legitimate government or its people. The UAE maintains that this decision will not impact the strong and enduring relationship between the UAE and Sudan, along with their citizens.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) highlighted that the Port Sudan Authority's decision to cut diplomatic ties with the UAE came just a day after the International Court of Justice dismissed a case filed by them. The Port Sudan Authority is one of the two conflicting parties in Sudan.

The Ministry also criticised statements from the Port Sudan Authority, labelling them as attempts to distract from peace efforts. It emphasised that Sudan deserves a civilian-led government free from military influence, which prioritises the welfare of its people rather than causing harm or displacement.
The UAE reiterated its support for the Sudanese people, including those residing in the UAE and visitors from Sudan. These individuals will remain unaffected by recent decisions. For over fifty years, the UAE has been a steadfast ally of Sudan and continues to offer support and solidarity to its people.
The Ministry condemned remarks made by the Port Sudan Authority, describing them as tactics to undermine peace initiatives. It stressed that a leadership focused on civilian governance is essential for Sudan's future, ensuring no harm comes to its population through violence or deprivation.
The UAE remains committed to standing with the people of Sudan during these challenging times. The enduring relationship between both nations is built on mutual respect and shared interests, which are not swayed by recent developments involving non-representative authorities.
