UAE Highlights Digital Transformation Model In Judiciary At AUAJ Conference In Cairo

The UAE Federal Supreme Court recently took part in the seventh General Assembly meeting of the Arab Union for Administrative Judiciary (AUAJ) and its fourth international conference. This event, hosted in Cairo, saw participation from delegations representing various member states.

During the Fourth International Conference of the AUAJ, themed "The Future of Administrative Justice in Light of the Challenges of Artificial Intelligence – A Comparative Reading between International Experiences and the Arab Reality," Mohamed Hamad Al Badi Al Dhaheri, President of the Federal Supreme Court, delivered an opening speech. He remarked: "Our world today is witnessing a rapidly evolving technological revolution in which artificial intelligence has become a fundamental pillar in shaping the future, influencing the economy, administration, education, and even one of the noblest human fields — the judiciary."

UAE Showcases Judiciary Digital Transformation

Al Dhaheri highlighted that administrative justice must navigate a complex balance between human justice demands and technical efficiency needs. He stressed that "justice is not a mathematical equation, but a moral value carried in the conscience of the judge before being written in his ruling." This underscores the importance of maintaining ethical considerations alongside technological advancements.

The UAE's Digital Transformation Journey

The UAE’s experience with digital transformation was also discussed by Al Dhaheri. He reviewed how all institutions, especially within the judiciary, have embraced digital initiatives like e-justice and smart courts. These efforts aim to uphold judicial dignity, independence, and data confidentiality while integrating technology effectively.

Technological Innovation with Legal Safeguards

Al Dhaheri affirmed that the UAE has successfully balanced technological innovation with legal safeguards. In this context, artificial intelligence serves as an aid to judges rather than replacing them. It supports fact analysis without overshadowing their moral judgement or conscience.

The conference provided a platform for discussing how AI can be integrated into administrative justice systems globally while respecting ethical standards. The UAE’s approach highlights how technology can enhance judicial processes without compromising core values.
