UAE Digital School Receives Prestigious 1885 Exemplary Service To Education Award For Global Impact

The Digital School, part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Initiatives (MBRGI), has been honoured with the "1885 Exemplary Service to Education" award by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). This accolade marks a significant achievement as it is the first time an institution outside the USA has received this prestigious recognition, underscoring its global impact on education.

The award was presented at a special ceremony during the NEASC Leadership Conference 2024 in Boston, USA. This international recognition follows the school's earlier global accreditation this year, solidifying its status as a pioneering digital educational platform. The school is dedicated to delivering high-quality education to underserved communities worldwide.

UAE Digital School Wins 1885 Education Award

Named after NEASC's founding year, the "1885 Distinguished Service to Education" award is their highest honour. It celebrates institutions that lead transformative change in education. Established nearly 140 years ago, NEASC is a respected academic accreditation body with a presence in over 90 countries. This award highlights the Digital School's innovative contributions to global education.

Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of the Digital School Board, highlighted the school's alignment with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision. He stated that through advanced technology and innovative solutions, they empower disadvantaged students by ensuring access to education and shaping a brighter future.

"This award is a global testament to the UAE's leadership in digital education and our commitment to making a lasting impact worldwide," Al Olama added. The Digital School’s initiatives ensure access to quality learning experiences delivered with exceptional flexibility, regardless of students’ location or circumstances.

Dr. Waleed Al Ali, Secretary-General of the Digital School, described the award as a global endorsement of their mission. "Winning the '1885 Exemplary Service to Education' award reflects the trust placed in the Digital School as a transformative force in global education," he said. The recognition motivates them to continue developing innovative solutions that empower children facing educational barriers.

A Milestone in Educational Excellence

"This recognition inspires our team to achieve even more," Dr. Al Ali added, emphasizing its role in solidifying their position as leaders in digital education. It also ensures sustainability of their humanitarian mission while reflecting UAE's culture of generosity and commitment to modern education.

Cam Staples, President of NEASC, expressed admiration for the Digital School's mission. He commended its innovative efforts to reach underserved groups in remote villages and refugee camps, providing all students with access to high-quality education.

Pioneering Digital Learning Solutions

The Digital School was launched in November 2020 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as the first fully integrated digital school of its kind. It has rapidly grown to reach over 200,000 students across more than 14 countries. The school offers digital education in multiple languages including Arabic, English, French, Spanish, and Kurdish.

The initiative has trained over 3,000 certified digital educators in partnership with Arizona State University. This milestone underscores its commitment to providing innovative educational opportunities pursuant to high standards while showcasing UAE’s leadership in digital education globally.
