UAE Digital Procurement Platform Registers Over 24K Suppliers In First Quarter

The UAE Ministry of Finance has made significant strides in enhancing the procurement process for federal entities and suppliers with the introduction of the Digital Procurement Platform (DPP) in 2021. This initiative is designed to align with the UAE Digital Government Strategy 2025, fostering a more integrated and transparent purchasing environment. By connecting federal entities with an extensive network of suppliers, the platform aims to revolutionize procurement operations, ensuring efficiency and transparency.

As of Q1 2024, the Federal Suppliers Register within the DPP has witnessed a remarkable increase in registrations, boasting 24,789 suppliers. This surge underscores the platform's effectiveness in streamlining procurement procedures, drastically reducing the process time from 60 days to a mere six minutes. This efficiency is achieved through the adoption of electronic signatures, online contracts, and engaging all relevant stakeholders in the procurement process to secure competitive prices and offers.

UAE DPP Hits 24K Supplier Registrations

The DPP simplifies the registration process for suppliers by offering a streamlined service on the Ministry of Finance's website. With fewer required attachments and simplified procedures, the platform is user-friendly and accessible. It now encompasses 35 categories featuring over 120,000 products and services provided by 230 suppliers. The Central Procurement Unit plays a crucial role in negotiating with these suppliers to ensure federal entities receive the best possible prices, fostering joint work development and enhancing user experiences.

Regarded as one of the five major transformational projects under the UAE Ministry of Finance's strategic orientations, the Digital Procurement Platform is pivotal in driving digital transformation. It not only improves efficiency and transparency but also facilitates better expenditure tracking and spending analysis. The platform's design prioritizes ease of use and flexibility, offering a simple interface that accelerates procurement processes while enhancing execution and management.

The adoption of this platform by government entities has led to improved procurement experiences, characterized by a simplified user interface and a comprehensive catalogue of commonly purchased services. This advancement has significantly reduced time consumption, administrative work, and costs while increasing quality. Moreover, the platform plays a crucial role in promoting sustainability and corporate social responsibility by integrating tools that monitor related metrics, aligning with the Ministry of Finance's overarching strategy and vision.

In essence, the Digital Procurement Platform has transformed the procurement landscape for federal entities and suppliers across the UAE. It has not only increased transparency and streamlined procedures but also supported small and medium enterprises by expanding contracting opportunities. As it continues to evolve in response to technological advancements, the platform remains committed to improving user experience, emphasizing sustainability, and fulfilling corporate social responsibilities.
