UAE Launches Digital Integration Project To Verify Academic Qualifications For Private Sector Workers

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has teamed up with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) to launch a digital project. This initiative aims to verify academic qualifications electronically, aligning with the UAE's vision for digital transformation. It allows private sector employers to confirm workers' qualifications, whether issued locally or internationally, enhancing the employment environment.

The new service is designed for private sector employers and workers with foreign academic degrees at skill levels 1 to 4, as per the National Qualifications Framework. Users can access it via MoHRE's digital platforms and business service centres nationwide. In future phases, it will also cover degrees issued within the UAE at these skill levels.

UAE Launches Academic Qualifications Verification Project

Khalil Al Khoori, Undersecretary of Labour Market and Emiratisation Operations at MoHRE, stated that this project is part of ongoing efforts to improve labour market efficiency. He said, "The Academic Qualification Verification Project forms part of our ongoing efforts at the Ministry to enhance labour market efficiency and develop digital services for our customers, reinforcing the UAE’s pioneering vision to attract talent and maintain competitiveness and integrity in the employment ecosystem."

Dr. Mohammad Al Mualla from MoHESR highlighted that this project will speed up and improve the accuracy of verifying academic qualifications. This improvement helps economic sectors attract suitable talent, boosting their competitiveness. "This initiative marks a ground-breaking new step towards aligning the academic journey with labour market requirements, which is a strategic priority for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research," he added.

The initiative supports fast and reliable government services that meet changing labour market needs while maintaining professional standards among workers. It enhances the UAE's appeal as an investment destination by providing credible employment services through seamless stakeholder integration.

Al Khoori noted that integrating roles between stakeholders is crucial for embedding this verification process into work permit issuance procedures. Meanwhile, MoHESR acts as the authority for academic verification.

Supporting National Objectives

Dr. Al Mualla emphasised that launching this service aligns with efforts to achieve Zero Government Bureaucracy goals by delivering high-quality services that meet customer expectations. "We will keep working with our partners at federal and local entities, and across all economic sectors, to introduce more innovative initiatives that expand the higher education sector’s contribution to national objectives and visions," he noted.

This project provides numerous benefits by ensuring accurate academic qualification verification through direct digital means. It streamlines hiring practices by reducing paperwork and consolidating processes into a unified system with a one-time fee.

The initiative ultimately strengthens public-private collaboration, enhancing labour market flexibility and operational efficiency while supporting regulatory systems in curbing harmful practices.
