UAE Sends 21 Water Tankers To Gaza To Alleviate Water Shortages
The United Arab Emirates has provided 21 water tankers to the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility in Gaza. This is part of "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3," which aims to support Palestinians by addressing severe water shortages. Each tanker can carry 10 cubic metres, transporting around 150,000 litres per trip, benefiting approximately 200,000 people by distributing desalinated water.
Sharif Al-Nayrab, Media Director for the operation in Gaza, highlighted the UAE's ongoing humanitarian commitment to the Palestinian people. He noted that the initiative works tirelessly to ensure a continuous supply of desalinated water throughout the Strip. The operation reflects the UAE's dedication to mitigating the humanitarian crisis affecting civilians.
Omar Shatat, Deputy Executive Director of the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility, expressed gratitude for the timely arrival of these tankers amid increasing demand. He acknowledged "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3" for bolstering humanitarian efforts in Gaza and thanked the UAE government and its citizens for their unwavering support during this ongoing crisis.
Last month, a new pipeline began transporting desalinated water from an Emirati station in Al Arish to Khan Younis's Mawasi area in southern Gaza. This pipeline has a daily capacity of two million gallons, benefiting hundreds of thousands across the Strip. These initiatives highlight the UAE's leading role in global humanitarian efforts.
