UAE Cybersecurity Council Launches Second Cohort Of CyberE71 Programme To Foster Innovation

The UAE Cybersecurity Council has introduced the second cohort of the CyberE71 Incubator Programme, a key initiative to boost entrepreneurship and innovation in cybersecurity. This follows the success of its first edition at GISEC Global 2024. The programme supports Emirati students and entrepreneurs, investing in national development to counter cyber threats.

The launch of this cohort underscores the UAE's dedication to enhancing its cybersecurity infrastructure. By aiding national startups, it strengthens defences against cyber threats and reinforces the country's leadership in global cybersecurity. The programme aligns with the UAE's vision to empower youth and support startups for social and economic progress.

CyberE71 provides a platform for startups to build capabilities and develop future Emirati leaders. It offers five intensive bootcamps and seven days of specialised workshops aimed at refining solutions, scaling them effectively, and achieving market impact. This structure helps participants enhance their innovations for real-world application.

Participants had the chance to present their innovations at GITEX Global 2025, leveraging the programme’s strong presence in previous editions. This exposure extends to other prestigious international exhibitions hosted by the UAE, showcasing their work on a global stage.

Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, highlighted CyberE71's role in supporting national innovation ecosystems. He stated, "The success of CyberE71 in attracting such a large number of startups highlights the UAE’s status as a global cybersecurity hub." His comments reflect the programme's importance in fostering innovation.

Dr. Al Kuwaiti also emphasised youth involvement in adapting to cyber challenges, stressing collective efforts for capacity-building nationally. He noted that cyberattacks pose significant threats to both economic stability and national security, necessitating proactive measures.

Building a Resilient Cyber Environment

The second cohort has attracted over 200 startup applications from across the Emirates, indicating strong interest from entrepreneurs. This enthusiasm demonstrates the programme's appeal within the entrepreneurial ecosystem as it seeks to nurture innovative ideas and promising startups.

The Cybersecurity Council collaborates with national institutions to promote cybersecurity awareness among individuals and organisations in the UAE. These efforts aim to protect critical assets while fostering a resilient cyber environment that can withstand evolving threats.
