The meeting saw H.H. Sheikh Khaled and EAEU leaders witness the exchange of an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). This agreement aims to remove trade barriers and create opportunities in sectors like renewable energy, logistics, and construction services. H.H. Sheikh Khaled noted that this agreement is a significant milestone in UAE-EAEU relations, boosting trade volumes and economic cooperation.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled stressed that through the EPA, the UAE seeks to strengthen ties between business communities, investors, and entrepreneurs across both regions. This initiative lays a foundation for robust economic collaboration while reflecting the depth of friendship between the UAE and EAEU nations.

The EPA is expected to enhance private-sector collaboration, fortify supply chains, and empower entrepreneurs and SMEs to expand globally. Building on years of economic cooperation, bilateral non-oil trade between the UAE and EAEU countries grew by 27% in 2024 to reach US$29 billion. Trade between these partners has quadrupled since 2021.

The agreement was signed by Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade; Mher Grigoryan from Armenia; Natalia Petkevitch from Belarus; Serik Zhumangarin from Kazakhstan; Daniyar Amangeldiev from Kyrgyzstan; Alexey Overchuk from Russia; and Bakytzhan Sagintayev from the Eurasian Economic Commission Board.
