UAE Council For Artificial Intelligence Reviews National Projects And Global Collaboration Opportunities At GITEX Global 2025

The UAE Council for Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain recently evaluated significant national projects in artificial intelligence and advanced technologies. These initiatives aim to improve government services, enhance well-being, and explore collaboration opportunities with global platforms at GITEX Global 2025. This event is the largest gathering of innovation leaders, featuring over 6,800 technology companies and 2,000 startups from 180 countries.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, chaired the meeting. He highlighted the UAE's commitment to strengthening its global position in AI development across key sectors. "Under the guidance of its leadership, the UAE continues to strengthen its position, presence, and global competitiveness in developing artificial intelligence across vital sectors, including government services," he stated.

UAE Council Explores AI Collaboration at GITEX

The Council discussed the progress of national initiatives aimed at enhancing government services and well-being. The focus was on expanding AI adoption in government entities to improve service delivery and operational excellence. They also aim to establish a robust regulatory framework supporting responsible AI integration.

The UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy was a focal point of discussion. It aims to boost institutional efficiency and foster an entrepreneurial mindset while achieving high standards in government services. The strategy aligns with the UAE's vision to adapt to global transformations.

Eng. Sharif Salim Al Olama led discussions on energy sector initiatives aiming to enhance system efficiency through AI tools. These efforts seek to strengthen the UAE's competitiveness in global energy indicators by addressing challenges related to energy and water management.

The Council reviewed key initiatives like the Unified Infrastructure and Energy Data Platform Project. Collaborative efforts include programmes like the National Green Certificates Programme designed to improve electricity management efficiency across the UAE.

Intellectual Property Advancements

Abdulla Al Saleh presented initiatives from the Intellectual Property Sector Committee focused on increasing patents and trademarks while reducing business setup times. The committee discussed challenges in AI-related patents and efforts to protect them globally.

The AI-Utilization Index in Patents aims to enhance transparency regarding AI use in content creation. This index promotes transparency through a Human-Machine Collaboration System developed by Dubai Future Foundation.

Industrial Sector Transformation

The Industry and Advanced Technology Committee reviewed efforts to accelerate AI adoption in industry through initiatives like "AI as a Core Pillar in Digital Transformation." These initiatives integrate AI into industrial assessments and update indices evaluating digital maturity.

The goal is to establish AI as a key driver of industrial transformation, enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness within the UAE manufacturing sector.

The Council also examined developments from the National Team for Reviewing Data Centres' Impact on Energy Sector. This team includes 25 members from 18 federal and local entities working on mapping data centres across the UAE.

Established in 2018 and restructured in 2024, the UAE Council for Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain leads AI initiatives with innovative strategies aimed at advancing digital transactions. Their forward-looking visions continue to shape this promising sector's future.
