UAE's Commitment To Advancing Global Trade And Investment Partnerships At AIM Congress 2025

Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, emphasised the UAE's position as a prime investment destination at the AIM Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi from 7th to 9th April. The event highlighted the UAE's strategic role in fostering global economic collaboration and innovation.

The AIM Congress 2024, themed "Mapping the Future of Global Investment: The New Wave of a Globalized Investment Landscape – Towards a New Balanced World Structure," featured over 350 dialogue sessions. It brought together 900 speakers and experts worldwide to discuss key issues shaping the global economy. The congress aimed to create a more prosperous and sustainable global economic environment.

UAE Advances Global Trade at AIM Congress 2025

During his opening remarks, Al Zeyoudi stated, "The UAE will continue to champion investment as an essential catalyst of development – where investment is geared towards expanding opportunities, unlocking potential, forging new industries, and driving prosperity." He highlighted that the UAE is now the 16th largest source of foreign investment globally, with US$22.3 billion allocated to international projects in 2023 alone.

Al Zeyoudi participated in high-level discussions and panel talks throughout the congress. These engagements explored strategic investment opportunities and fostered partnerships with global stakeholders. His participation underscored the UAE's commitment to using its capital for upgrading economies, driving innovation, and enhancing lives worldwide.

The congress also included a Ministerial Roundtable on ‘The Role of International Trade Agreements in Building Open and Inclusive Markets.’ Here, Al Zeyoudi discussed how collaborative frameworks can promote sustainable economic growth and address global trade challenges effectively.

Al Zeyoudi outlined the success of the UAE’s Comprehensive Economic Partnership program. With 27 deals concluded and eight already in force, this program has significantly driven export growth and facilitated strategic investments into high-priority sectors.

Global Engagements and Strategic Initiatives

Al Zeyoudi attended bilateral discussions with senior officials like Rustam Minnikhanov, Prime Minister of Tatarstan, and Hua Yuan, Vice Mayor of Shanghai. He also met with trade ministers from regions including Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. These interactions reflect the UAE's dedication to fostering global partnerships through targeted investments.

The congress reinforced Abu Dhabi’s strategic role as a global investment hub by encouraging innovative approaches to tackle economic challenges. It showcased the UAE’s commitment to being a beacon of opportunity in the Middle East by leveraging technology for a prosperous future.

Al Zeyoudi also attended the third World Local Production Forum's opening in partnership with Emirates Drug Establishment and WHO. This event further demonstrated the UAE's dedication to advancing local production capabilities globally.
