UAE Minister Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar Engages With Citizens At Majid Al Futtaim On Emiratisation Efforts

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, recently visited Majid Al Futtaim Group. During this visit, he met with UAE citizens employed by the company. The visit coincided with a ceremony celebrating the company's achievements in Emiratisation.

The event was attended by Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO at Majid Al Futtaim Holding, and Mariam Majid Al Futtaim, a shareholder and representative of the company's shareholders. Dr. Al Awar praised the private sector's commitment to Emiratisation policies, highlighting its dedication to recruiting and training UAE citizens.

Engagement on Emiratisation at Majid Al Futtaim

Dr. Al Awar emphasised that over 120,000 Emiratis have been employed across various sectors due to this partnership with the government. More than 23,000 companies now benefit from the skills of capable national talents. He noted that Majid Al Futtaim Group's efforts reflect a strong sense of social responsibility.

The Minister commended the company's support for government policies aimed at enhancing UAE citizens' competitiveness in the labour market. He also praised the contributions of Emirati employees at Majid Al Futtaim Group, asserting that the UAE leadership closely monitors these efforts.

Dr. Al Awar mentioned that Emirati professionals receive significant support from the Nafis programme. This initiative helps create an attractive work environment and offers benefits to companies engaging with Emiratisation policies in the private sector.

Ahmed Galal Ismail reiterated Majid Al Futtaim Holding's commitment to advancing Emiratisation efforts in line with UAE leadership's vision. He highlighted strategic plans to provide promising job opportunities for Emirati citizens.

Progress in Employment Rates

The CEO noted that their partnership with the Nafis programme has been effective. The company's Emiratisation rate increased from 3 percent in 2021 to 13.7 percent currently, demonstrating significant progress in employing UAE nationals.

This collaboration between government initiatives and private sector efforts continues to empower UAE citizens, ensuring their job stability and active participation in various economic sectors.
