UAE And China Enhance Economic Cooperation During AIM Congress 2025 Session

The United Arab Emirates and China have reinforced their strategic economic partnership at the "Invest in China, Guangxi" session during the AIM Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi. This event was organised with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Government of Guangxi, China. It attracted senior government officials, business leaders, and global investors.

Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE's Minister of Economy, highlighted the robust UAE-China economic relations as a model for successful partnerships based on diversity and innovation. He emphasised the UAE's commitment to strengthening ties with China and noted the Belt and Road Initiative's role in enhancing regional connectivity and international cooperation.

UAE-China Economic Cooperation at AIM Congress

Lan Tianli, Governor of Guangxi, praised the UAE's leadership in fostering international economic collaboration. He highlighted Guangxi’s strategic location and its dedication to enhancing cooperation with the UAE in trade, investment, and infrastructure sectors. The session aimed to create new opportunities for sustainable growth through joint efforts under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Khaled Al Fahim from the Abu Dhabi Chamber stressed the importance of building strong economic bridges with China. He noted that Guangxi's economic potential offers unique collaboration opportunities that align with global development goals. Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to China, encouraged companies to leverage emerging opportunities for sustainable growth.

Bin Touq pointed out that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are crucial for UAE-China cooperation. He mentioned over 15,500 Chinese companies operating in UAE free zones and industrial hubs. These businesses play a vital role in advancing bilateral economic cooperation between both nations.

Zhao Liang from the Chinese Embassy in the UAE expressed confidence in Guangxi’s potential to significantly contribute to joint development efforts. Raad Al-Saady from ACWA Power highlighted the long-standing collaboration between UAE and China in energy and infrastructure sectors, facilitated by initiatives like Belt and Road.

Promotional Presentations Highlight Opportunities

The session featured presentations from major institutions such as World Free Zones Organization (World FZO), Guangxi Pilot Free Trade Zone, Beibu Gulf Port Group, and Gargash Motors. These presentations showcased Guangxi’s expanding trade capabilities and integration into global networks.

Dr. Samir Hamrouni of World FZO announced Guangxi Pilot Free Trade Zone's inclusion into their international network. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to enhance collaboration in trade, research, and innovation.

The "Invest in China: Guangxi" session represents a significant step forward in UAE-China economic relations. It underscores both countries' commitment to advancing trade, investment, and innovation through strategic initiatives and mutual cooperation.
