UAE–Chad Trade And Investment Forum: Strengthening Economic Ties And Development Goals
H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, attended the UAE–Chad Trade and Investment Forum in Abu Dhabi. The event was graced by Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, President of Chad. The forum aimed to strengthen trade and investment ties between the two nations.
President Idriss Déby announced Chad's national development plan, Chad Connection 2030, during the opening ceremony. This initiative seeks to boost Chad's global trade openness and economic growth. It includes 268 projects focusing on energy, infrastructure, and industry.
H.H. Sheikh Khaled emphasised the UAE's dedication to fostering long-term partnerships with African countries. He noted the strong relationship between the UAE and Chad since diplomatic ties were established in 1973. The UAE aims to support Africa's development agendas by investing in key sectors.
The forum also showcased Chad's financial incentives designed to attract both local and international investors. These incentives cover financial, customs, and regulatory aspects to encourage investment in Chad's strategic projects.
The UAE continues to play a vital role as a strategic partner for African nations. Guided by leadership directives, it supports sustainable development investments that promote global stability and prosperity. Investing in future generations is seen as crucial for achieving these goals.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Victoire Tomegah Dogbé, Prime Minister of Togo; Mohamed Lamine Zeine, Prime Minister of Niger; and Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade.
The forum provided a platform for discussing Chad's development priorities under its new plan. By highlighting major projects and incentives, it aimed to attract investment that would drive comprehensive development in Chad.
