UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Welcomes Chad's President To Discuss Bilateral Cooperation
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, recently hosted His Excellency Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, President of Chad. The visit included participation in the UAE–Chad Trade and Investment Forum. During their meeting at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, they discussed strengthening ties and explored collaboration opportunities in economic, trade, development, and renewable energy sectors to support mutual development goals.
The UAE–Chad Trade and Investment Forum took place from 10 to 11 November in Abu Dhabi. This event marked the official launch of Chad's 'Chad Connection 2030' national development plan. The forum aimed to enhance economic cooperation between the two nations. President Déby expressed gratitude for the UAE's hosting of the forum, highlighting its importance in advancing bilateral relations.
Sheikh Mohamed emphasised the UAE's dedication to fostering partnerships with African countries. He stated that this commitment is part of the UAE's strategy to build strategic relationships that promote global prosperity and ensure a better future for upcoming generations. The focus is on shared economic growth and lasting progress.
President Déby acknowledged the significance of the forum's outcomes, particularly regarding investment and economic relations. He noted that these developments represent a significant step forward in bilateral ties between Chad and the UAE. The discussions underscored both countries' commitment to expanding their partnership across various sectors.
The meeting was attended by several prominent figures from the UAE. These included His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister; H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan; among others.
Also present were H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. The gathering included Sheikhs, ministers, senior officials, citizens, and guests who witnessed discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two nations. This high-level attendance underscores the importance placed on strengthening ties with Chad as part of broader efforts to foster international collaboration.
