UAE Strategic Partner in Good Governance, Says Central African Republic President
At the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2024, taking place in Dubai until February 14th, President Faustin-Archange Touadéra of the Central African Republic (CAR) highlighted the United Arab Emirates as a pivotal ally in fostering good governance, which he views as crucial for the prosperity of any nation. Under the theme "Shaping Future Governments," Touadéra's keynote speech emphasized the importance of a global framework marked by growth, equilibrium, international collaboration, and respect for sovereignty.
Touadéra articulated a vision where countries can progress without succumbing to external pressures or unilateral actions. He outlined CAR's initiatives in revamping its education sector, enhancing access to drinking water and electricity, and reevaluating vocational and technical training to better prepare individuals for the job market. These steps are aimed at tackling unemployment and promoting women's empowerment.

The President underscored these efforts as part of a broader strategy to foster dialogue, inclusivity, and effective governance. This approach is intended to contribute to Africa's journey towards peace and stability. Touadéra urged financial partners in Central Africa to innovate and offer new tools that could fast-track the implementation of political and developmental agendas.
He also pointed out the significance of nurturing diplomatic relationships that are grounded in economic advancement and reciprocal benefits. In his closing remarks, Touadéra stressed the necessity for governments to continually refine their governance models and seek inventive solutions to address global challenges such as climate change, geopolitical tensions, and crises in energy and food security.
This call to action from the CAR President at the WGS 2024 underscores a commitment to good governance as a foundation for sustainable development. It also highlights the role of international cooperation and innovative thinking in overcoming contemporary global challenges.
