UAE's Calidus Aerospace Partners With Türkiye's ASELSAN And HAVELSAN For Defence Innovation
Calidus Aerospace has entered into strategic partnerships with Turkish defence firms ASELSAN and HAVELSAN. These agreements were formalised on the first day of SAHA EXPO 2024 in Istanbul. The collaboration aims to bolster defence technology cooperation between the UAE and Türkiye. Key figures present at the signing included Mohamed bin Fadhil Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Haluk Gorgun, Secretary of Defence Industries, and Mona Ahmed Al Jaber, Chairwoman of the Emirates Defence Companies Council.
The agreements were signed by Dr. Khalifa AlBlooshi, CEO of Calidus; Ahmet Akyol, President and CEO of ASELSAN; and Mehmet Akif Nacar, CEO of HAVELSAN. This collaboration marks a significant advancement in UAE-Türkiye defence relations. It focuses on joint innovation to create advanced solutions for cockpit display systems on airborne platforms and sophisticated training systems.

ASELSAN will provide cutting-edge cockpit display solutions for Calidus’ airborne platforms. The partnership involves joint production and technological upgrades for both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. This initiative aims to modernise cockpits comprehensively, ensuring they meet current and future operational demands.
HAVELSAN will deliver state-of-the-art ground-based training solutions tailored for Calidus platforms. This collaboration is set to develop training systems that address both existing needs and future platform requirements. The focus is on creating innovative solutions that enhance training effectiveness.
Dr. Khalifa AlBlooshi stated, "These partnerships mark an important step in localising defence technology in the UAE and enhancing our domestic capabilities by integrating the latest global innovations." He emphasised that working with industry leaders like ASELSAN and HAVELSAN positions Calidus at the forefront of defence innovation.
