Businesswomen in the UAE are achieving remarkable milestones, significantly contributing to the national economy and offering innovative community solutions. Their numbers and economic impact have grown, supported by government and societal backing, enhancing the UAE’s status as a hub for women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship.
The Emirates Businesswomen Council reported that women's workforce participation rose to 34.6 percent in 2024, up from 32.5 percent in 2023. Businesswomen now constitute 18 percent of all entrepreneurs in the UAE. Notably, 77.6 percent of women-owned businesses are led by women under forty, highlighting their crucial role in economic growth.

Moreover, the report highlighted that 48.8 percent of these women hold executive-director positions, and 61.4 percent own their businesses individually. This indicates a significant rise in female entrepreneurship within the country.
A group of businesswomen has launched an innovative digital platform offering consulting and financing services for women-led projects. This platform uses artificial intelligence to analyse data and provide recommendations, showcasing their commitment to leveraging advanced technology.
Additionally, another group introduced a smart application designed to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This app offers comprehensive solutions for digital marketing and human resource management, further supporting business operations.
New Business Registrations
The first half of this year saw over 2,000 new businesses established by Emirati businesswomen. These new ventures represent approximately 22 percent of all new businesses registered in the UAE during the same period, reflecting a robust entrepreneurial spirit among women.
Renewable Energy Initiatives
Businesswomen have also excelled in launching projects focused on renewable energy and environmental sustainability. These initiatives include solar energy production from residential and commercial rooftops, demonstrating their commitment to green energy solutions.
Healthcare Innovations
A startup specialising in remote healthcare services using virtual reality technology has been established with an investment of AED200 million. This venture underscores the innovative approaches taken by businesswomen in addressing healthcare needs through advanced technology.
E-commerce Success
An e-commerce platform connecting local artisans and designers with the global market was launched by businesswomen. This platform achieved revenues exceeding AED150 million in its first year, highlighting its success and impact on promoting local talent internationally.
The continuous achievements of businesswomen in various sectors not only strengthen the national economy but also pave the way for future innovations and sustainable growth in the UAE.
