UAE Enhances First Responder Protection At Abu Dhabi International Conference For Ambulance Services
The UAE has solidified its role as a global hub for showcasing advanced practices in safeguarding first responders. This was evident at the "Abu Dhabi International Conference for Ambulance Services," which brought together international experts, including a representative from San Marino. The event highlighted innovative strategies to enhance the safety of emergency teams in challenging environments.
San Marino's involvement included a session titled "Operational Challenges and Protection of Civil Defence Responders in Conflict and High-Risk Areas." This session took place at the Conrad Etihad Towers Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Professor Roberto Mugavero, from the University of San Marino and President of the European Center for Disaster Medicine, shared insights based on European expertise and practices.

Professor Mugavero emphasised that hosting such an event in the UAE is crucial for exchanging knowledge and improving rescue systems. He highlighted that his presentation covered recent European approaches, field studies, and research aimed at sharing with Emirati professionals to enhance global protection practices.
In an interview with Emirates News Agency (WAM), Professor Mugavero stressed the significance of international cooperation. He noted that different countries have unique experiences and research findings. Bringing these together at an international event like this one in the UAE fosters a more effective emergency management environment.
The professor also pointed out that participation is not just about presenting European expertise or San Marino's experience. It is equally about learning from the UAE’s advancements in this field and understanding the progress it has made.
The conference served as a pivotal platform for exchanging knowledge among global experts. It underscored the importance of collaboration to build efficient emergency management systems worldwide.
