UAE And Bahrain Strengthen Collaboration In Transport And Infrastructure
Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the UAE's Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, met with Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications. Their discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the two nations to boost regional socio-economic growth.
The ministers explored implementing a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in transport. This MoU aims to share technical and administrative expertise, collaborate on national workforce training, and advance projects in sustainable mobility, autonomous driving, and digital transformation.

They also discussed opportunities to enhance infrastructure for ports and logistics services. The goal is to improve port competitiveness and align with global maritime transport trends. This collaboration seeks to strengthen the region's strategic position in international trade.
Al Mazrouei emphasized the importance of building partnerships based on knowledge exchange. He stated that these efforts aim to achieve strategic regional goals through joint projects in transport, legislation, and infrastructure. "This meeting was an ideal opportunity for building advanced partnerships," he noted.
Al Mazrouei praised the strong ties between the UAE and Bahrain. He highlighted that this historic relationship is crucial for enhancing strategic partnerships across various sectors. These efforts aim to fulfill both countries' leadership aspirations for developmental integration serving mutual interests.
Dr. Al Khalifa shared Bahrain's ambitious strategy for a sustainable transport ecosystem covering maritime, air, and land transport. This aligns with Bahrain’s Vision 2030. "Investment in capabilities is essential," he said, expressing eagerness to learn from the UAE’s successful experiences.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Hassan Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of Infrastructure and Transport Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, along with Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs at the same ministry.
This collaboration marks a significant step towards achieving a more interconnected future in transport and infrastructure development between the two nations. It underscores their commitment to fostering regional growth through shared expertise and innovative projects.
