UAE And Bahrain Strengthen Strategic Partnership At 13th UAE-Bahrain Joint Higher Committee Session

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani co-chaired the 13th session of the UAE-Bahrain Joint Higher Committee in Abu Dhabi, where both sides reviewed political, economic and security ties and confirmed that cooperation between the two countries will continue to deepen across regional and international files.

The session ended with H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Dr. Al Zayani signing the official minutes of the 13th meeting of the UAE–Bahrain Joint Higher Committee, formalising the agreed areas of cooperation and confirming ongoing coordination mechanisms between the two foreign ministries and relevant government bodies in both countries.

During the discussions, the UAE side stressed that the bilateral partnership extends beyond shared interests, noting that "The UAE views Bahrain not only as a strategic partner, but also as a key pillar of stability and a cornerstone for promoting peace, security and development in the region, as well as an integral part of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s broader path of progress and prosperity."

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed highlighted that regional and international coordination remains a central pillar of the UAE-Bahrain strategic partnership, explaining that "The UAE will continue to support Bahrain during its non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council in 2026 and 2027, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE dipomatic mission in New York fully backing Bahrain."

Economic cooperation featured strongly in the committee’s agenda, with H.H. Sheikh Abdullah stating, "We are proud of the sustained growth in our economic and trade relations, with non-oil trade exceeding US$9.3 billion in 2024, and we look forward to further cooperation in future-oriented sectors such as industry, renewable energy, infrastructure, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies."

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah underlined that ''the relations, built on trust and permanent consultation, have contributed to boosting cooperation and consolidating the strategic partnership between the two countries in line with the aspirations of their peoples.'' H.H. Sheikh Abdullah added that ''the leadership of both countries aspires to further strengthen these ties and continue this positive course.''

Opening the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Dr. Al Zayani and the Bahraini delegation, noting that the annual committee reflects deep fraternal bonds between the two peoples. The talks were attended by Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State; and several senior officials from both governments.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah noted that ''The meeting underscored the two sides’ commitment to enhancing their strategic partnership and expanding cooperation to meet shared ambitions." At the close, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah thanked Dr. Al Zayani and the Bahraini delegation for their contribution and said, "I hope these distinguished relations between our two countries will always continue to be built on cooperation and mutual goodwill."
