UAE Bahamas Bilateral Ties Expand Through Digital Governance And Regional Collaboration

Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State, has completed a visit to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas during a Caribbean tour. The trip focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation on digital government, tourism, economic links and other sectors.

During meetings with Prime Minister Philip Davis and Minister of Foreign Affairs Frederick Mitchell, Al Kaabi and counterparts agreed to deepen collaboration in digitization, agriculture, food security and sustainable development, and to finalise economic agreements supporting trade and investment.

UAE Bahamas expand ties via digital governance

Digital transformation formed a major part of the discussions. Leaders examined how digitization of government services could streamline administration and improve visitor services, supporting tourism in The Bahamas. Both sides agreed to accelerate joint work on digital solutions and shared views on regional developments.

Talks with Frederick Mitchell also covered cooperation in multilateral organisations and coordination in international forums. Officials discussed trends affecting the Middle East and the Caribbean, highlighted challenges linked to radicalization, and stressed the need for dialogue, prevention and cross-border security collaboration.

Both governments confirmed their intention to deepen the bilateral relationship through economic frameworks. They underlined the importance of completing pending agreements that would expand trade and investment across sectors discussed during Al Kaabi’s visit.

Al Kaabi described the state of ties between the two nations, stating: "The bilateral relationship between the United Arab Emirates and The Bahamas continues to be strengthened through closer diplomatic engagement, expanded economic cooperation, and the exchange of expertise across priority sectors. We look forward to building on this momentum to advance ties that support sustainable growth, innovation, and shared prosperity for our two countries and peoples."

Al Kaabi travelled with Omar Shehadeh, Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Caribbean and Pacific States, highlighting the wider regional scope of the mission. The visit forms part of continuing UAE engagement with Caribbean partners focused on dialogue and economic partnerships.
