French Companies Find Lucrative Prospects In UAE's Aviation Sector, Says Business France

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been identified as a fertile ground for aviation sector companies, with Business France highlighting the nation's potential for growth and expansion in this industry. Business France, tasked with promoting French exports and facilitating foreign investment in France, underscores the UAE's dynamic aviation market, characterized by a significant number of commercial aircraft and national airlines that are on an expansion spree, adding new aircraft to their fleets.

Sandra Papet, Head of Industry & Cleantech Department for the UAE at Business France, Middle East, shared insights with the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during the MRO Middle East 2024 exhibition and conference held in Dubai. Papet revealed that 30 French companies in the aviation sector have established their presence in the Middle East, reflecting the region's critical importance and diverse opportunities for French enterprises.

UAE's Aviation Sector Booms for French Firms

The 12th French participation at the MRO Middle East event was marked by a comprehensive pavilion featuring 22 companies specializing in maintenance, repair, spare parts, aircraft equipment, and cabin equipment. Papet highlighted that some of these companies are either based in the UAE or manage their operations in the region from their headquarters in France. The exhibition serves as a crucial platform for these companies to explore business opportunities within the UAE market and beyond.

2023 was flagged as a pivotal year for UAE-France cooperation in the aviation sector. Papet pointed out several major projects involving French companies, with contracts amounting to billions of dollars. Furthermore, she shed light on the collaborative efforts between the UAE and France aimed at steering the aviation industry towards sustainability. This initiative is particularly significant as France commits to investing 1.2 billion euros in developing more sustainable aviation solutions with a reduced carbon footprint by 2030.

The engagement between the two countries in enhancing aviation sustainability underscores a mutual commitment to addressing environmental concerns within the industry. This collaboration not only strengthens bilateral ties but also sets a precedent for future endeavors aimed at achieving greener aviation practices.

The MRO Middle East 2024 exhibition and conference thus emerges not only as a venue for showcasing advancements and fostering business connections but also as a testament to the enduring partnership between the UAE and France in pioneering sustainable solutions within the global aviation sector.
