UAE Attorney-General Enhances Legal Ties With Russian Federation
In a significant move towards bolstering international legal cooperation, Chancellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, the UAE Attorney-General, recently concluded an official visit to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation. This visit marked a pivotal moment for both nations, focusing on the exchange of best practices in public prosecution and the exploration of the latest legislative developments.
Dr. Al Shamsi lauded the outcomes of this visit, emphasizing its role in reinforcing the ties between the UAE and Russia. During his visit, Dr. Al Shamsi met with Igor Krasnov, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation. The meeting, which also saw the presence of Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, focused on strengthening legal ties and enhancing coordination on mutual concerns.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in December 2021 between the Public Prosecution of the UAE and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation stands as a testament to their commitment to deepen collaboration. This MoU aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices in criminal investigation and criminology. It also emphasizes leveraging modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to enhance criminal justice processes.
This strategic partnership between the UAE and Russia not only aims at addressing immediate legal and judicial challenges but also at setting a global standard for cooperation in these domains.
