UAE's Artificial Intelligence Office And EHRDC Launch Initiative To Train 5000 Emirati Students In Digital Skills

The UAE's Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office, in collaboration with the Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) in Dubai, has initiated a significant programme. This initiative aims to train 5,000 Emirati students in future technologies over the next five years. It follows directives from H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, emphasised the UAE government's commitment to investing in national talents. He stated that the government is dedicated to equipping individuals with skills necessary for active participation in digital development. "This aligns with our approach to ensure a promising digital future," he said.

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of the EHRDC, expressed the initiative's importance: "This initiative demonstrates our unwavering commitment to empowering Emirati talent to lead in the digital economy." The programme reflects efforts to bridge academia and industry, ensuring youth are equipped for success in technology sectors.

The initiative supports Dubai's strategic vision of enhancing the digital economy and positioning the nation as a global leader in innovation. It aims to empower young Emiratis for leadership roles in rapidly evolving technology sectors. This effort is part of a broader strategy to foster innovation and achieve sustainable economic growth.

As part of this initiative, an MoU was signed between the Artificial Intelligence Office and EHRDC to strengthen partnerships with technology companies. The goal is to develop talent and train 5,000 students over five years, creating a workforce ready for future challenges.

The Council also established agreements with LinkedIn, SAS, and universities such as the University of Dubai and Zayed University. These partnerships aim to enhance students' skills through digital development and industry-specific training. Mentorship and practical learning opportunities are also provided.

Focus on Education

The programme targets third and fourth-year university students by offering mentorship and practical training. Students gain access to leading industry partners, preparing them for professional roles in technology sectors. This approach ensures they are well-equipped for future challenges.
