UAE Armed Forces Mark 10th Anniversary Of National Service Law With Largest Military Parade

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, attended a significant ceremony in Abu Dhabi. Organised by the Ministry of Defence, this event marked the 10th anniversary of the National and Reserve Service Law. The gathering took place in the Al Sameeh area and was graced by several dignitaries.

The event celebrated enduring values like loyalty, patriotism, and sacrifice that inspire Emiratis to contribute to national progress. These principles are crucial for preserving the Union's achievements and enhancing the nation's development, security, and stability.

During the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed witnessed ‘Waqfat Walaa’ (A Stand of Loyalty), the largest military parade in UAE history. Thousands of National Service and Reserve Force members participated, showcasing pride and national belonging. This parade was part of both the law's anniversary and the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed deep appreciation for citizens fulfilling their national service duties. He emphasised that national service goes beyond military duty, embodying loyalty, patriotism, sacrifice, and dedication. These values are a legacy from the Founding Fathers who built the UAE on unity and solidarity.

Under directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed awarded officers with UAE Military Medals for their foundational efforts in implementing the National Service Law. Major General Pilot Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan received a First-Class medal among other honourees.

Sheikh Mohammed hailed UAE youth as responsible inheritors of national values. He highlighted their role in driving growth and innovation while enhancing defence capabilities. He called this occasion a reaffirmation of commitment to the Founding Fathers' vision for a brighter future.

Flag Handover Ceremony

The ceremony also featured a flag handover for the Khalifa bin Zayed Airborne Brigade by Brigadier General Ahmed Ali Al Shehhi. This marks an advancement in defence capabilities aligning with leadership's vision to strengthen readiness against evolving challenges in defence technologies.

The event saw attendance from notable figures including Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council; H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan; among others.

This gathering underscored unity among leaders in celebrating milestones that reinforce national identity and commitment to progress.
