UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed And Albanian PM Edi Rama Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama engaged in discussions to enhance bilateral cooperation. They focused on strengthening ties in areas that support development in both nations. Their meeting also covered regional and international issues of mutual interest, aiming to deepen collaboration across various sectors.

The leaders met at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where the Albanian Prime Minister was attending Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. This event served as a platform for raising global awareness about sustainability and fostering international cooperation on shared challenges like climate change. The discussions highlighted the importance of this event in promoting global collaboration.

UAE and Albania Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

During their talks, special emphasis was placed on economic, investment, and development cooperation. Both leaders explored opportunities to broaden shared interests and deliver tangible benefits to their peoples. They aimed to capitalise on opportunities that would deepen cooperation across various sectors, ensuring mutual growth and prosperity.

An agreement was signed during the meeting to establish ALBtrace, a joint venture company focusing on financial solutions. This initiative will enable the Albanian government to oversee taxable products and ensure compliance with standards. The agreement was signed by Khaled Mohammed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE, and Delina Ibrahimaj, Albanian Minister of Finance.

The meeting saw attendance from several notable figures. Among them were H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Deputy Chairman of Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority; Ali Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of the UAE to the Hellenic Republic and Non-resident Ambassador to Albania; along with other senior officials.

The discussions between His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Prime Minister Edi Rama underscored their commitment to advancing bilateral relations.
