UAE Sends Over 172 Tonnes Of Ramadan Aid To Needy Families In Chad

The United Arab Emirates has once again demonstrated its commitment to humanitarian aid, with the dispatch of its fifth plane loaded with over 36 tonnes of supplies to the Republic of Chad. This latest delivery, part of a broader initiative during the holy month of Ramadan, raises the total aid provided to nearly 172 tonnes. This substantial contribution includes more than 6,000 Ramadan baskets, aimed at supporting Sudanese refugees in Chad, alongside residents of Amdjarass and neighbouring towns.

The aid, meticulously organized by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, encompasses essential food items such as dates, rice, flour, sugar, oils, grains, and baby milk. These Ramadan baskets are designed to meet the basic needs of families during this sacred month. In a parallel effort, the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable & Humanitarian Foundation has also contributed by sending an Emirati plane carrying about 20 tonnes - equivalent to 500 relief bags - of livelihood materials and humanitarian supplies to Amdjarass Airport.

UAE's Major Ramadan Aid to Chad

The distribution of these Ramadan baskets is being carried out by an Emirati humanitarian team in collaboration with local authorities in Amdjarass. Their joint efforts have already reached more than 6,000 impoverished families across the city and its surrounding areas. This initiative is part of the UAE's broader commitment to providing support during Ramadan and beyond, including healthcare services for patients and the elderly from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Beneficiaries in Chad have expressed their gratitude towards the UAE for its ongoing support and relief efforts. The Emirati humanitarian mission in Chad comprises members from the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. This team operates in close cooperation with the UAE Aid Coordination Office in Chad, ensuring that aid reaches those most in need efficiently and effectively.

This latest act of generosity underscores the UAE's dedication to aiding vulnerable communities worldwide, particularly during significant periods such as Ramadan. Through these concerted efforts, the UAE continues to provide vital support to those facing hardship, reaffirming its role as a key player in global humanitarian assistance.
