UAE Sends Food Aid To Chad For Ramadan, Supporting Over 3,500 Families

In a significant humanitarian effort during the holy month of Ramadan, the United Arab Emirates has dispatched three aircraft loaded with essential food supplies to the Republic of Chad. This initiative, part of a broader Ramadan programme, is overseen by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. The latest shipment, which landed at Amdjarass Airport yesterday, brought 36 tonnes of supplies, rounding up the total aid delivered to 102 tonnes. This includes over 3,500 Ramadan food baskets distributed in the past week.

The aid comprises critical food items tailored to meet the needs of families during Ramadan. Each basket contains dates, rice, flour, sugar, oil, grains, and baby milk among other necessities. This thoughtful composition ensures that recipients have access to balanced nutrition during this sacred time.

The distribution of these Ramadan baskets is a collaborative effort involving the UAE humanitarian team and local authorities in Chad. The team includes members from the Emirates Red Crescent, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. They work in unison with the UAE Aid Coordination Office in Chad to ensure that aid reaches those most in need.

So far, this project has positively impacted over 3,500 poor, needy, displaced, and underprivileged families across Amdjarass city and its neighbouring towns. The initiative reflects the UAE's commitment to supporting communities in need worldwide, particularly during significant periods such as Ramadan.

The efforts of the UAE humanitarian team underscore a broader mission to provide relief and support to underprivileged families globally.
