UAE Delivers Over 4,500 Tonnes of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza Strip
The United Arab Emirates has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to humanitarian support with the arrival of the second aid ship at the Port of Al Arish, carrying 4,544 tonnes of essential supplies destined for the Gaza Strip. This significant delivery is part of Operation Gallant Knight 3, initiated under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to extend a helping hand to the Palestinian people.
The ship's arrival was marked by the presence of notable figures including Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs; Mariam Khalifa Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt; Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of Emirates Red Crescent; and Major General Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha, Governor of North Sinai. Departing from the Port of Fujairah on 3rd February, the vessel transported 4,303 tonnes of food supplies, 154 tonnes of shelter materials, and 87 tonnes of medical aid. These provisions were generously provided by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Emirates Red Crescent.

Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi highlighted the UAE's historical commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, emphasizing that relief and food aid have been continuously supplied to alleviate the suffering of Gaza Strip residents since the crisis began. During his visit to several UAE aid warehouses in Al Arish, Dr. Al Neyadi reviewed their diverse contents aimed at enhancing humanitarian relief efforts.
Rashid Al Mansouri underscored that the arrival of this second aid shipment reaffirms the UAE's dedication to launching initiatives that bolster relief efforts and support for the Palestinian people in Gaza. As part of Operation Gallant Knight 3, which commenced on 5th November 2023, the UAE has provided over 15,700 tonnes of aid through 162 cargo planes.
In addition to material aid, the UAE has also established six water desalination plants in Gaza with a combined capacity of approximately 1.2 million gallons per day. These facilities are crucial for ensuring access to clean water for Gaza's residents, directly benefiting their daily lives.
The continuous support provided by the UAE through Operation Gallant Knight 3 underscores its firm belief in standing by those in need and its commitment to humanitarian causes worldwide. The operation not only delivers essential supplies but also brings hope and relief to the Palestinian people during these challenging times.
