UAE Aid Convoy Enters Gaza Strip With Vital Humanitarian Supplies
An Emirati aid convoy made its way into the Gaza Strip on Wednesday through the Egyptian Rafah crossing, marking a significant step in "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3." This initiative aims to provide support and relief to the Palestinian people amidst their challenging circumstances. The convoy, comprising 12 trucks loaded with over 264 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including essentials such as food, water, and dates, is part of a larger effort that has seen 440 aid trucks deliver much-needed assistance to the people of Gaza.
Since the operation's inception on 1st May 2024, the United Arab Emirates has delivered an impressive total of 22,436 tonnes of aid to the Palestinian territories. This substantial support has been transported through a combination of 220 cargo planes and three cargo ships, all converging at Al Arish Port before being meticulously distributed into Gaza via trucks through the Rafah crossing.

Additionally, "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3" encompasses the "Birds of Goodness" operation, which facilitates aerial drops of humanitarian supplies. To date, 43 drops have been executed, successfully delivering 3,000 tons of food and relief materials to areas in Gaza that are otherwise difficult to access.
The field hospital established in Gaza as part of this humanitarian mission has provided medical care to over 18,970 cases. In instances requiring specialized treatment, 152 cases have been evacuated to the UAE Floating Hospital at Al Arish Port, with another 166 individuals transferred to the UAE for further medical attention.
In an effort to address the critical need for clean drinking water, the UAE has also set up six desalination plants within Gaza. These facilities boast a combined production capacity of 1.2 million gallons per day, significantly benefiting the local population by providing them with essential access to potable water.
This comprehensive aid initiative underscores the UAE's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people during their time of need. Through "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3," the Emirates continues to extend a helping hand, ensuring that essential supplies and medical care reach those most in need within the Gaza Strip.
