AI In UAE Higher Education: MoHESR Leads National Integration
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research brings together national experts to examine how AI in higher education can reshape teaching, research and skills in the UAE. An interactive workshop is organised to exchange knowledge and design initiatives that align advanced technology with academic and labour market priorities.
Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar explains that the national strategy uses AI to upgrade learning systems and support future-ready graduates. Dr. Al Awar said, "AI integration is a cornerstone for elevating educational quality and ensuring long-term sustainability. Our commitment lies in aligning educational policies with innovation and forging strong partnerships between academia and key economic sectors. This approach reinforces the UAE's position as a global leader in leveraging advanced technologies in education, enhancing the international competitiveness of our higher education system."

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar stresses that AI in higher education supports a smart, flexible framework for students and researchers. The approach aims to improve every stage of the student journey, connect university outcomes with national economic plans, and match programmes with skills that employers across the UAE economy increasingly require.

Policy framework supporting AI in higher education
The workshop forms part of a wider programme by the AI in Higher Education working group under the Advisory Committee for Higher Education and Future Skills. This group develops guidance for higher education institutions and strategic economic partners on using advanced AI approaches in teaching, learning and scientific research across the UAE.
Through these efforts on AI in higher education, the working group focuses on improving educational quality, strengthening links to the labour market and ensuring long-term benefits for the national higher education system.
