Tuwaiq Sculpture 2025 Concludes, Celebrating Artistic Creativity And Cultural Exchange

The sixth annual Tuwaiq Sculpture event recently concluded, marking a successful 40-day celebration that drew significant public interest. This year's symposium and exhibition offered an immersive experience in contemporary sculpture, combining live sculpting, cultural exchange, and community involvement. Visitors had the chance to engage with artists and witness their creative processes firsthand.

From January 15 to February 8, 30 artists from 23 countries participated in live sculpting sessions. The theme "From Then to Now: Joy in the Struggle of Making" highlighted the challenges and experiences that shape artistic creativity. This allowed the public to interact with artists and follow their creative journeys in real time.

Tuwaiq Sculpture 2025 Celebrates Art and Culture

The symposium enhanced its interactive aspect through a community engagement program. This included 11 panel discussions, 10 workshops, six professional training programs, and guided tours. These activities introduced visitors to the art of sculpture while fostering cultural exchange and creative learning from diverse artistic traditions.

A professional training program featured 10 trainees who gained hands-on experience working alongside the artists. This initiative facilitated an exchange of artistic and cultural knowledge, enriching both participants and visitors alike.

Tuwaiq Sculpture was curated by lead curator Sebastian Betancur-Montoya and associate curator Dr. Manal Al-Harbi. Their expertise helped shape the artistic and cultural vision of the program. "This year's symposium embodied the power of art to transcend boundaries and build bridges between cultures," Betancur-Montoya stated.

"The sculptures are not just artistic creations but symbols of creativity and collaboration that will remain as lasting testaments to this remarkable artistic moment," he added. The completed artworks were unveiled at an exhibition from February 12 to February 24, allowing visitors to view all sculptures together before they are distributed across Riyadh.

Permanent Installations Across Riyadh

The sculptures reflect a fusion of global artistic perspectives and innovative techniques. They will become permanent installations throughout Riyadh, reinforcing Riyadh Art's vision of enriching public spaces, fostering a creative economy, and establishing Riyadh as a leading global art hub.

Riyadh Art extends its appreciation to the artists, curators, and visitors whose contributions were instrumental in this year's success. The city remains committed to its artistic journey, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030's goal of transforming the Kingdom into a global center for culture and arts while shaping a vibrant urban environment filled with creativity.
