Tuwaiq Academy Collaborates With Meta For Groundbreaking Game Development Diploma

Tuwaiq Academy has introduced a diploma program in game development and virtual worlds, marking a first in Saudi Arabia. This initiative, in collaboration with Meta, will officially commence on Sunday, September 15, at the academy's main headquarters in Riyadh. The program aims to equip national talents with vital skills in game development, virtual world creation, and augmented and virtual reality technologies.

The diploma program, accredited by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, offers educational curricula that include global professional certifications. Trainees will gain essential skills such as three-dimensional (3D) modeling, developing and programming virtual worlds, creating augmented reality and mixed reality applications, C# programming language, Unity engine, and Web 3 technologies. The program emphasizes practical learning through project-based applications supervised by specialized teaching staff over two semesters totaling more than 800 training hours.

Abdulaziz Al-Hammadi, Tuwaiq Academy's chief executive, highlighted that launching the first technical diploma at the academy is part of their efforts to introduce diverse educational tracks and activate partnerships with major global entities. He stated that this initiative aims to continue leading technical education in the Kingdom and support the labor market with national talents possessing top-notch capabilities and skills to innovate in various technical fields.

Tuwaiq Academy stands out as the first institution to offer specialized technical camps and educational programs in collaboration with global entities like Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, Alibaba, and others. These programs are designed to develop national talents and enhance their ability to innovate and create in modern technology fields.

Meta’s head of policy programs for the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye Joelle Awwad remarked on the significance of this partnership. "The launch of the diploma in game development and virtual worlds in partnership with Tuwaiq Academy represents a significant achievement that drives efforts to adopt advanced education programs," she said. "This includes augmented reality, which the academy offers in partnership with Meta, ensuring the readiness of Saudi talent for the requirements of the future labor market and establishing the Kingdom's position as a leading global center in the fields of programming, augmented reality, and 3D design."

The program's methodology is tailored to meet job market needs by focusing on practical skills development. This approach ensures that graduates are well-prepared for careers in game development and related fields. The curriculum is designed to provide hands-on experience through real-world projects under expert supervision.
