Trump And Gulf Leaders Commend Saudi Arabia's Key Role In Regional And Global Affairs At GCC-USA Summit
During the GCC-USA Summit in Riyadh, US President Donald J. Trump and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leaders expressed their gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. They praised Saudi Arabia's significant role in regional and international matters, its efforts to promote solidarity, and its support for peaceful initiatives. The leaders highlighted their strong relations with the Kingdom and confidence in its ability to enhance security and stability.

King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain commended Saudi Arabia's humanitarian leadership, particularly its recent efforts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He emphasized the importance of the GCC-US strategic partnership for security and development, which is essential for safeguarding mutual achievements and fulfilling aspirations for a stable future.
The Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, reiterated the GCC's commitment to regional security through dialogue. He stressed rejecting actions that threaten their sovereignty or resources. He hoped the summit would address key issues like the Middle East peace process, advocating for a resolution based on international resolutions leading to an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tarik Al Said from Oman highlighted the strategic nature of GCC-US relations, focusing on security, stability, and cooperation across various sectors. He expressed concern over Gaza's humanitarian crisis due to Israeli occupation and international failures in achieving peace. He acknowledged President Trump's positive role in resolving Yemen's conflict.
GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi emphasized that Gulf-US partnerships are built on trade, investment, education, energy, and defense cooperation managed by 10 joint working groups. The Gulf states lead in traditional energy while partnering with the US in clean energy innovations. These ties are strengthened by Gulf students attending American universities and US academic branches in the region.
