Trinidad And Tobago Police Inspector Commends Dubai's Innovative Policing Model And Leadership

Dubai Police's innovative approach to law enforcement and leadership continues to gain international recognition. Inspector Vekash Ramkissoon from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service recently praised their strategic vision and dedication to developing human capital. His commendation follows his participation in the Police Innovation and Leadership (PIL) Diploma, a programme organised by Dubai Police with the Rochester Institute of Technology.

The PIL Diploma attracted over 50 officers from 39 countries, offering them an immersive experience into Dubai’s advanced security practices. Inspector Ramkissoon, who manages four police stations in Trinidad and Tobago's Eastern Division, found the programme dynamic and inspiring. He noted Dubai Police's culture of adaptability, innovation, and discipline as key highlights.

Trinidad and Tobago Inspector Praises Dubai Police

Inspector Ramkissoon emphasised the importance of Dubai Police's investment in human resources. He stated, "What truly stood out to me was the forward-thinking mindset and how seamlessly Dubai Police embraces emerging challenges. Their investment in human resources is central to their success." With over 25 years in policing, he admired how personnel empowerment contributes to excellence.

He further explained that excellence is achieved when individuals are given opportunities for growth. In Dubai, support is available to all who need it, creating a resilient security ecosystem. This approach ensures no one is left behind, fostering a high-performing environment.

Inspector Ramkissoon also commended Dubai Police's community engagement efforts and international cooperation initiatives like the UAE SWAT Challenge. These platforms are crucial for building institutional pride, strengthening global partnerships, and promoting knowledge exchange.

He shared that one of the first messages during the programme was about forming strong, sustainable bonds rather than just partnerships. This message left a lasting impression on him, highlighting Dubai Police's commitment to long-term relationships.

Encouraging Global Participation

The Trinidadian commander expressed gratitude for the exceptional organisation of the programme. He encouraged law enforcement professionals worldwide to participate in such initiatives. According to him, "This diploma isn’t limited to academic enrichment. It opens new horizons for thinking and lays the foundation for a global culture of innovation in policing."

The PIL Diploma not only enhances academic knowledge but also fosters innovative thinking in policing globally. Such programmes are vital for developing future-focused leaders who can adapt to emerging challenges effectively.
