Empowering The Next Generation: TRENDS' Youth Panel Highlights At Paris Book Fair 2024

At the Paris International Book Fair 2024, a significant panel discussion titled "Empowering Young Researchers: The Significance of Research and Student Exchange" was hosted by TRENDS Research and Advisory in collaboration with the Alettihad News Centre. This event, held at the Grand Palais Éphémère's Exhibition Centre in Paris, aimed to underscore the critical role of research and student exchanges in nurturing the talents of emerging researchers and encouraging worldwide dialogue.

The panel featured Dr. Patrice Brodeur, an associate professor at the University of Montreal, alongside UAE students from Sorbonne University. It also included a diverse group of researchers, media influencers, and content creators. The discussion revolved around the collective efforts of think tanks, universities, educational bodies, and media in advancing skill development among the youth.

Dr. Mohammad Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, highlighted the organization's dedication to enhancing research collaboration with both local and international academic entities. He pointed out TRENDS' initiative in offering scientific research training to students and young researchers. Dr. Al-Ali also shared that numerous young researchers associated with TRENDS have engaged in research exchange programs with global academic institutions to refine their skills and analytical prowess.

Dr. Hamad Al Kaabi, CEO of the Alettihad News Centre, lauded TRENDS for its support towards young researchers' skill enhancement. He stressed the media's pivotal role in promoting global cultural exchanges and fostering understanding and tolerance. Furthermore, Dr. Al Kaabi emphasized the importance of leading media platforms in enabling youth to disseminate their research findings and ideas.

Dr. Brodeur discussed how research and student exchange programs are instrumental in exposing students to diverse cultures and boosting their educational outcomes. He also highlighted the positive effects of collaborations between universities and research centers on improving the research capabilities of both students and young researchers.

The TRENDS pavilion garnered considerable attention at the Paris International Book Fair 2024, with many attendees commending its wide array of publications. Researchers, writers, and officials from other pavilions sought information about TRENDS and its initiatives. The pavilion's team engaged with representatives from the Quebec Pavilion, Canada—the fair's guest of honor—to form strategic research partnerships and explored collaboration opportunities with the Romanian Cultural Institute.

Social media influencers and other media personnel praised TRENDS' pavilion for its unique position as the sole Arab pavilion at the exhibition. They acknowledged its global research vision and the depth and balanced approach of its publications in shaping perspectives and tackling challenges.

The Media Communications Department at TRENDS played a vital role in spreading information about their participation to journalists and celebrities. During the event, three episodes of the "TRENDS Podcast" were recorded in Paris, featuring interviews with notable personalities discussing various aspects related to TRENDS' involvement in the exhibition and its French European tour.
