TRENDS Research And UAE Space Agency Sign MoU To Enhance Academic Research And Innovation
TRENDS Research and Advisory has entered into a strategic agreement with the UAE Space Agency. This collaboration aims to boost cooperation in academic research, future studies, polling, training, and capacity building. The focus is on advancing the UAE's space sector and enhancing its knowledge economy.
The memorandum of understanding was formalised during the 19th Dubai Airshow. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, and Salem Butti Al Qubaisi, Director-General of the UAE Space Agency, signed the agreement. Officials from both organisations attended the signing ceremony.

The MoU includes joint research efforts and report preparation for the Abu Dhabi Space Dialogue. It also involves documenting workshops and discussions while analysing outputs related to future policy development. The aim is to bolster expertise in policy and research domains.
Dr. Al-Ali highlighted that this partnership is crucial for generating future knowledge that supports public policy. He stated that the space sector is a significant national priority. TRENDS will conduct specialised studies on space policies, economic impacts, cybersecurity, and technological innovation.
Both entities plan to design opinion polls to understand public views on UAE space programmes. They will also launch joint training initiatives to enhance skills in research, data analysis, and future studies.
Salem Butti Al Qubaisi noted that this partnership aligns with the Agency’s strategy to form effective collaborations with leading research institutions. He stressed that integrating research with practical applications in the space sector will drive innovation and strengthen national capabilities.
Building Future Knowledge
The cooperation aims to support proactive knowledge production for policymaking. It seeks to develop Emirati talent in advanced research fields and create dialogue platforms exploring challenges and opportunities in space technology.
Al Qubaisi added that these efforts would reinforce scientific research as a foundation for a prosperous future for upcoming generations. He emphasised that fostering future foresight is essential for sustainable development.
This collaboration between TRENDS Research and Advisory and the UAE Space Agency marks a significant step towards enhancing academic research and practical applications within the UAE's growing space sector.
