Empowering Future Scientists: TRENDS Unveils Summer Research Program

TRENDS Research and Advisory, in collaboration with its partners, has launched the TRENDS Summer Research initiative. This programme aims to encourage young researchers and university students to engage in innovative scientific research on various topics of interest to TRENDS.

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research and Advisory, highlighted the importance of this initiative. He emphasised that it supports rigorous and innovative research while empowering young researchers. "The initiative targets young researchers and university students and is part of a series of initiatives by TRENDS to encourage them to continue their scientific research journey, contributing to quality improvement of scientific outputs regionally and globally," he stated.

TRENDS' New Research Program

The initiative includes a comprehensive programme designed to develop trainees' skills in scientific research, media, writing, and other specialisations within the centre. Dr. Al Ali noted that it aims to create a competitive environment that enhances research outputs and fosters a constructive scientific movement.

Abdulhadi Al Hammadi, Head of Public Relations and Media Sector at TRENDS, affirmed that the TRENDS Summer Research initiative complements previous successful initiatives. He explained that it focuses on enhancing cooperation with TRENDS' strategic partners and includes programmes for skill development in various fields.

Saqer Al Suwaidi, Director of Training and Development at TRENDS, explained that the initiative aims to enhance the skills of students and researchers during the summer. It offers opportunities for participation in academic research, training in research methods, and collaboration with academic scholars on specific projects.

Nasser Al Ali, Head of the Administrative Affairs Sector, mentioned that "the initiative represents a new step in TRENDS' efforts to develop young researchers' skills, empower them, and enhance their skills, contributing to future-making, and enabling accurate analysis and long-term foresight."

Media Department's Role

Elyazia Al Hosani, Director of the Media Department at TRENDS, highlighted that the initiative is a unique opportunity for young researchers to develop their skills. She noted that it is part of TRENDS' commitment to supporting scientific research. The Media Department will contribute by providing trainees with social media skills, content creation abilities, and report preparation techniques.

Abrar Al Ali from the Global Barometer Department stated that her department is contributing by providing knowledge in preparing opinion polls and digital analytical reports. She emphasised understanding public opinion trends is crucial for developing accurate solutions.

Strategic Plan for Future Readiness

Reem Al Kindi from the Training Department mentioned that as part of implementing TRENDS' strategic plan for 2024, they work on equipping young students with essential research skills. This ensures readiness for future challenges by integrating modern research technologies into their training programmes.

The initiative also includes field surveys conducted across the seven emirates and the Arab world by the Global Barometer Department. Since 2020, they have conducted 75 opinion polls targeting thousands of respondents.

This comprehensive approach aims to provide practical experience while deepening students' understanding of their academic interests. The programme ultimately seeks to improve scientific outputs both regionally and globally through enhanced cooperation with strategic partners.
