TRENDS Research & Advisory Sets New Benchmark With Launch Of Ethics Code

TRENDS Research & Advisory has introduced the "TRENDS Research & Advisory Code of Ethics for Content and Scientific Research," marking a significant milestone in research and intellectual hubs. This initiative underscores the Centre's commitment to advancing its global research mission.

The innovative code was revealed during a symposium at TRENDS' Abu Dhabi headquarters' Grand Conference Hall. It outlines the fundamental principles guiding research and knowledge initiatives at TRENDS Research & Advisory, focusing on research integrity, professionalism, credibility, and excellence.

The code comprises 24 provisions, reflecting the Centre's dedication to advancing knowledge and societal welfare. It highlights TRENDS' global influence and commitment to fostering valuable scientific studies. Adhering to peer-reviewed research standards, the Centre delivers sophisticated content across various domains such as economics, politics, social issues, science, technology, health, sports, and artificial intelligence.

Promoting Peace and Coexistence

TRENDS champions a culture of peace, moderation, openness, and coexistence through shared human values. The Centre actively promotes national progress, encourages education and innovation, and supports sustainable development initiatives. The code also emphasises the importance of educating the younger generation about the dangers associated with extremist ideologies.

Empowering Youth and Gender Equality

The code highlights TRENDS' role in nurturing and empowering youth, recognising their pivotal role in future prosperity and sustainable development. It promotes gender equality, safeguards children's rights, and condemns violence, terrorism, and extremism.

Commitment to Human Rights

The code urges non-involvement in regional and international conflicts and promotes peaceful dispute resolution through international arbitration. It affirms the need to uphold human rights, freedom of expression, noble human values, and respect for intellectual property rights and copyrights.

Global Cooperation

The code fosters cooperation with UN-affiliated organisations and partnerships with esteemed international cultural and intellectual institutions. It emphasises collaboration with renowned international organisations to disseminate beneficial knowledge, propose solutions to global issues, facilitate cultural exchanges with intellectual centres worldwide, and contribute to sustainable development.

Leadership Remarks

Dr. Mohammad Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, emphasised the impact of this code as an essential framework guiding the Centre's researchers. He reiterated TRENDS' commitment to research values such as professionalism, credibility, and distinction. Dr. Al-Ali expressed confidence that this initiative will fuel advancements in scientific research on local, regional, and global fronts.

Ibrahim Ali Khadem, Director of the Licencing and Media Content Monitoring Department at the UAE Media Council, praised the initiative as a commendable step amidst widespread misinformation and fake news.
