TRENDS Research & Advisory Celebrates 11 Years Of Impactful Knowledge Dissemination And Innovation
TRENDS Research & Advisory marked its 11th anniversary, highlighting its achievements that have solidified its status as a leading think tank both regionally and globally. This celebration coincided with Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, the CEO of TRENDS, being honoured as the "Person of the Year 2025" by the Meeting of Muslim Religious Leaders of BRICS Countries. This recognition was for his efforts in fostering cooperation through research and academic innovation.
Dr. Al-Ali expressed that these accomplishments are just the beginning of a more ambitious journey. He emphasised TRENDS' role as a strategic partner in shaping a better future for both the region and the world. The centre's forward-thinking research vision has quickly elevated it among international research institutions, thanks to its scientific depth, global presence, and commitment to empowering youth while forming partnerships worldwide.

Academic research forms the core of TRENDS’ operations. Over recent years, it has produced 1,688 reports and special studies on regional and international matters. Additionally, it has published 1,183 research papers and 1,143 articles externally. Its scholarly output includes 343 publications with 51 original books in Arabic, English, and French.
The TRENDS International Training Institute plays a crucial role in human capacity development. It collaborates with leading global institutes to offer training programmes that blend theory with practice to meet evolving labour market needs. This approach ensures participants gain skills relevant to current demands.
On an international scale, TRENDS has expanded its research collaborations to include 342 academic, media, governmental, and private entities across over 45 countries. It has also established 22 physical and virtual offices worldwide. The centre actively participates in academic events, organising 298 scientific gatherings like conferences and lectures annually.
TRENDS’ notable participations include events such as the World Economic Forum in Davos and the International Conference – Spiritual Silk Road: The Role of Moral Values in Bridging Nations – held in Rio de Janeiro. These engagements underscore TRENDS' commitment to global dialogue on critical issues.
Media Initiatives and Technological Advancements
TRENDS developed a comprehensive communication system within its Media Sector. It produced 4,513 periodic bulletins and reports alongside 19,018 digital posts that garnered over 36.6 million views and interactions. This robust media presence enhances TRENDS' ability to disseminate information effectively.
The launch of the TRENDS Research smart application provides an innovative platform for accessing publications and events easily. Additionally, the TRENDS Podcast serves as a creative knowledge hub by featuring insights from intellectuals worldwide.
Awards and Recognition
TRENDS has received numerous prestigious awards recognising its contributions. Among these is the Leading Institution in Counter-Extremism Award from the UK Foreign Office. Such accolades highlight TRENDS' impactful work on both local and international stages.
The Global Barometer Department at TRENDS collaborates with ten partners at various levels to deliver monthly and annual studies supporting informed decision-making processes. This department exemplifies TRENDS' dedication to providing valuable insights for policy formulation.
